The Carbon Farming Knowledge project developed a network of 30 independent agricultural advisers across south eastern Australia that now have the capacity to deliver effective messages on:
- Factors affecting agricultural emissions
- Greenhouse gas management
- Opportunities for sequestering carbon
- The risks and opportunities associated with farm businesses participating in the Emissions Reduction Fund.
The advisers are the key influencers in on-farm decision-making through the relationships they have developed with their farmer clients. They are also the key influencers in their region, and many are engaged with farming systems groups conducting trial work that is providing the scientific rigour to the messages being delivered.
